Westmont Women's Cross Country will travel this week to Lawrence, Kansas to participate in the 2013 NAIA National Championships on Saturday. The Warriors, ranked at number 17 in the final NAIA Coaches' Poll, received an at-large invitation after finishing third in the GSAC Championships. This year marks the 20th time the Warriors have qualified as a team to participate in the national championship race and the 30th time at least one student-athlete has competed. Westmont has six top-10 performances over the years and has finished in the top-20 on 17 occasions. The last two years, Westmont finished 14th (2011) and 18th (2012) when the championships were held at Fort Vancouver in Vancouver, Washington. This year's 5,000 meter championship race will be held at the Rim Rock Farm outside of Lawrence.
