Warriors Compete at APU Indoor MeetPublished by
Westmont's Nate Evans earned a provisional qualification to the NAIA Indoor National Championship competing in the men's 800 meters at the Azusa Pacific Indoor All-Comers Meet on Saturday. Evans crossed the finish line in fourth place in a time of 1:56.19.
The meet was the first of 2014 in which Westmont athletes could qualify to compete at the national championships. Though no other Westmont athletes met qualification standards in Azusa, they will have additional opportunities to do so at meets hosted by Westmont the next two weekends.
In other men's events at Azusa, Evan Bradford won the 3,000 meter race in a time of 8:48.31 and Shane Rowan placed first in the men's triple jump with a mark of 13.69 meters. Claiming second place finishes were Tyler Moore in the men's 400 meter dash in a time of 49.94, Ben Kingsley in the shot put with a mark of 14.83 meters and Benjamin McCollum in the high jump with a height of 1.80 meters.
