Track and Field Teams Take First TwicePublished by
Westmont's Becky Collier cleared 1.70 meters (5-7) in the high jump to earn an automatic qualification into the NAIA Indoor National Championships in March. Collier, who took first place, was competing in Westmont's first home meet of the year.
Both Westmont's men's and women's teams took first place. The women's team tallied 76 points to Azusa Pacific's 59 points. California Lutheran took third place with 42 points. In the men's competition, Westmont won with 71 points, Azusa Pacific claimed second with 60 points and California Lutheran finished third with 49 points.
Jessica Meyers claimed a provisional qualification time of 5:11.53 in the mile run, taking first place. Shane Rowan also achieved a provisional qualification mark, jumping 14.19 meters (46-6.75) in the men's triple jump.
